Chasing "drug lords" is one of the promises of the incoming administration. With the latest raids that the security officials have been doing, it is noticeable that the commitment has started to be fulfilled.
In the most recent drug raid, 7 Chinese citizens were arrested in Binondo, Manila. According to CIDG spokesperson Chief Inspector Elizabeth Jasmin said the suspects were caught in a buy-bust operation in the Epitome Flower Shop situated at Pacific Center room 89-b, Quintin Paredes Street. An undercover group accompanied by Bernadette Tagle set up the suspects and tried to buy illegal substances that led to the arrest of the perpetratots.
An official said that the supposed flower shop was leased, but there was no permit for it to operate. They Found 3 kilos of allegedly prohibited substances which has a value of almost 3 million pesos. Keren Ten, believed to be the owner of the unit, tried to deny the operation, but apparently admitted. She also confessed that the group has a connection to a member of the Anti-Illegal Drug unit of Manila Police District whose role is an adviser. She said that the official has the initials BDG.

Babae, Inihulog Mula Sa Umaandar Na Kotse Sa Quezon City
Nakunan sa closed-circuit-television camera ang paghulog sa isang babae mula sa umaarangkadang kotse sa Quezon City nitong Sabado ng madaling araw.
Sa ulat ni Vonne Aquino sa GMA News TV's Balitanghali nitong Sabado, sinabing walang pagkakakilanlan sa biktima na dinala sa isang ospital.
Sa kuha ng CCTV video sa isang establisyimento sa Congressional Avenue sa Quezon City, makikita ang paghulog sa biktima dakong 1:00 a.m.
Tumigil naman ang ilang motorista na nakakita sa biktima na duguan at walang malay para tulungan ang babae at hindi mahagip ng iba pang sasakyan.
Batay sa impormasyon mula sa mga nakakita sa pangyayari, sinabi ng opisyal ng barangay Bahay Toro na nakasasakop sa lugar, nahulog ang biktima sa isang puting sasakyan na patungo sa direksyon ng Mindanao Avenue.
Inaalam pa ng barangay kung makukuha ang plaka o anumang pagkakakilanlan sa sasakyan.
"Positive yung nagsasabi dun na nakakita na inihulog siya dun sa kotse dahil 'yon lang ang dumaan. Paglampas ng kotse, tao na yung nandun na naiwan," ayon sa barangay desk officer na si Roberto Laureta.
Patuloy naman ang imbestigasyon ng mga awtoridad sa insidente.
